2014 Weekend Motorcycle Rally and 15th Annual “Nelson’s Ride!

December 2013 Turkey Shoot Champions

November’s Turkey Shoot Champions!

Thanks to all the participants in the November 2013 Turkey Shoot!  Below is a picture of the night’s sharp-shooting winners in Darts, Pool & Pistols!   More photos of the night are available here, thanks to Marie Hanabusa.

The season-long 2014 Survivor’s Fund Raffle also kicked off last night at the Turkey Shoot, and the winner will be drawn at the 15th Annual Nelson’s Ride on August 17th, 2014!  You can buy your raffle tickets online here, and be entered to win an estimated $2,000 grand prize!

MMSF Turkey Shoot League starts October 25th

Join us Friday, October 25th (and every final Friday of each month between October 2013 and March 2014), for the third annual MMSF Turkey Shoot league. Each event is a ‘triathlon’ of Darts, Pool & Pistols, and will be held at The Winner’s Circle (211 Elm Street, Salisbury). Registration starts at 6:30pm at The Winner’s Circle, and the “shooting” begins at 7:00pm.

Bring your friends as a team of four, come on your own to join a ‘luck of the draw’ team, or just cheer on your favorite team! Food, Music, Trophies, Camaraderie, Fun…where everyone SCORES!  A full page printable flyer and all event details are here.

You can buy tickets to a single MMSF Turkey Shoot, or buy a season-long pass, and save! All tickets are sold securely online using PayPal…click here to buy yours now.

Single tickets for shooters cost $20. Single tickets for non-shooters (spectators) cost $10.

Friday, September 20th – Jeff Gilbert Night of Celebration

09202013JeffGilbertJeff’s sister Tiffany and his buddy Patrick Powers, with other friends, will be hosting a ‘night in celebration’ of the life of Jeff Gilbert from Merrimac/Amesbury, taken too soon at the age of 23.

There will be a Memorial Ride, staging at the New Old Oak Pub, 74 East Main Street (Route 110), Merrimac, at 6:00 and leaving at 6:30 sharp, ending at the Chop Shop Pub, 920 Lafayette Street (Route 1) in Seabrook, begining at 7:00 p.m.  (Friends not riding on the Ride can meet at the Chop Shop Pub).  Food, raffles and live music.  Requested donation, $15 a person.  Can’t make it?  You can still donate in Jeff’s Memory here.  Funds raised in excess of expenses to be donated to www.RidersHelpingRiders.org.

5th Annual “Chic’s Ride” in Charlton on Sunday 09/15

09152013ChicsRideFlyerThe Worcester County Motorcyclists’ Survivors Fund brings you the 5th Annual Chic’s Ride, in honor of Brian Ceccarini, next Sunday, September 15th.

Staging starts at 9:30am at the Quarter Keg Pub, 443 Worcester Road (Route 20) in Charlton, MA. Kickstands up at 11am. Rain or shine – Non-riders welcome. After the ride there will be a Celebration of Life Party with lunch, raffles, and entertainment provided by DJ Mouth from 1pm-5pm. Tickets are $15, and all proceeds go to support the WCMSF.

Dave bought his winning ticket at the KevMarv Wilmington Bike Show. Jen S., of  Groveland won $50 of lottery tickets and “Ugly Mike” won 3rd prize – $25 worth of Lottery Tickets.  Thanks to everyone who sold and purchased tickets. Our 2014 raffle will start in November with the drawing at the 15th Annual Nelson’s Ride in August 2014.

This Sunday, August 18th: The 14th Annual Nelson’s Ride

This Sunday, August 18th, is the 14th Annual Nelson’s Ride event to benefit The Massachusetts Motorcyclists Survivor’s Fund. The ride will begin and end at Cycles! 128 in Beverly Massachusetts.  (Click here for directions, ride route, and schedule of events.)

Click here to hear a .30 PSA by Vinnie DiMartino speaking about the event. Mr. DiMartino is from a popular and long running bike building reality TV show and is well known in the motorcycle community.

The Massachusetts Motorcyclists Survivor’s Fund (MMSF) is an all volunteer non-profit organization. We raise money to help local families of riders killed or seriously injured in accidents and promote motorcycle safety and awareness to help reduce accidents, injuries and fatalities. Nelson’s Ride is an annual slow motorcycle ride in memory of Nelson Selig, Sr., who was killed in a motorcycle accident on May 2, 2000, leaving behind a wife, two children, two sisters, his mother, his step father, and many good friends.

The annual fundraiser began in August 2000, and was intended to make one of Nelson Sr.’s dreams come true: to send his children to college. That dream was accomplished, and in 2003, Nelson’s widow Felicia requested that our Team begin helping other local families of riders killed in accidents with the funds.

Nelson’s Ride is one of the Survivors Funds’ largest fund raising events.

MMSF Updates: Rudedog Benefit, Planning Meetings, Flash Ride-Ins

Nelson’s Ride Event Planning Team Meetings will be held every Monday night now through August 12th. Meetings start at 6:30 sharp at Cycles! 128. Walk-throughs, ride the Ride Route (weather permitting – use your judgment) (Road Guards needed !) Some ‘after-meeting’ meetings then to the Rocci-Post – all done by 8:30 ! Come on down – sign up to again help make this annual Ride for local families of riders in need a smooth Event for all attendees – it’s our Volunteers that make this work!

Watch for our Wednesday Night “Flash Ride-Ins” and cookouts on our Facebook Page each Wednesday beginning June 26th through August 14th. By 1 p.m. each Wednesday, we’ll announce on our Facebook Page the location of that night’s Event and DEAL for riders, be it FREE cookouts by our supporters or discount food deals or a supported Event helping local riders. Make our Wednesday night FLASH Ride-Ins a ‘pit stop’ on your Wednesday night cruise. Nelson’s Ride Event tickets/I’m Riding In Memory of Lanyards, shirts, pins/patches will be available!

    The “Sticca Night” at Seacoast Cycle in Newburyport, scheduled for Wednesday, May 15th, has been rescheduled for Wednesday, May 29th.

  • The MMSF Season-Long MMSF 50/50 Raffle pool has reached $2,050 for the lucky winner!  Buy your tickets for a chance to win!

  • The MMSF Board welcomed back Joe ‘Sarge’ Komola as an active Board Member. “Sarge” has been a long time advocate of motorcycle safety and served over 8 years as the Board’s Safety leader.  He got a new job requiring his time but now is BACK helping Riders!

Carmen of Leominster won our April monthly drawing for two products, and her winning ticket goes back into the bin for more chances to win!  Next monthly drawing for two Survivor’s Fund products will be May 13th.
